The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of online learning compared to face-to-face learning for English as a foreign language (EFL) learner in Management class. The participants were fifty EFL students of Management Study Program in Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang. Twenty-five students were put in online group learning and twenty-five students in face-to-face group learning. The study used survey to know the student’s perception of learning between online and face-to-face. Pre-test and post-test would be measured by using statistical data as one measure of learning outcomes. The result showed that students who took all or part of their class face-to-face perform better than those who only had access to online instruction. It meant that learning activities could be effective for face-to-face learning than online learning.
